Your privacy matters, and we want to be clear about how Bottle VPN works. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Bottle VPN app and service handle, why that information is needed, and how long it is kept. We have tried to keep this policy straightforward and easy to understand while accurately describing how the service works.
Bottle VPN does not keep a record of what you do online (browsing).
Specifically, we do not collect, log, or store:
Our VPN servers simply pass your traffic through without inspecting or recording it. This is our core promise to you.
We collect only the information needed to operate Bottle VPN, keep free usage fair, and respond to misuse of our servers.
When you first open Bottle VPN, the app automatically assigns an anonymous account ID. No name, email address, or password is required to connect to the Bottle VPN. The account uses a random identifier that allows us to track how much free VPN time your device has remaining.
You do not need to register an account to use Bottle VPN. If you voluntarily choose to create a registered account, we store the name and email address you provide. Registration is optional, and the VPN works fully without it.
Bottle VPN needs a small amount of technical connection information to operate the VPN service and manage free usage.
| Information | Why It's Needed | Retention Period |
|---|---|---|
| Server/region connected & time | Run connection & enforce free usage limits | Deleted when session ends (max 6 hours) |
| Internal network address (e.g., 10.1.0.7) | Required for VPN tunnel to function | Deleted when session ends |
| Remaining free minutes | Apply free usage allowance | While account exists |
| Connection record (time & region only) | Security & abuse investigation | Per retention policy |
These connection records contain no information about what you accessed while connected to the VPN.
For a VPN connection to work, our VPN server necessarily sees the internet address that your device connects from. This is unavoidable for any VPN service because the server needs to know where to send the VPN traffic.
We do not store your IP address in our database as part of your account record and it remains absolutely hidden from the App and our database.
The free version of Bottle VPN is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob. Google collects an advertising identifier and ad interaction data under its own privacy policy.
We also use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to help keep the app crash-free and performance optimized. These services collect:
None of this information includes your browsing activity.
We want Bottle VPN to remain safe and usable for everyone. If an account is used to abuse our servers (for example, to send spam, scan other systems, or attack third parties), we record:
This information allows us to refuse further access from that account. This is the only purpose for which we identify individual accounts.
Users connected to the same Bottle VPN server share a single public internet address. If someone misuses that address, the affected party or our hosting provider may send us a complaint containing the time and technical details of the connection.
We use only that technical information to identify and block the responsible account from our services. However, we do not and cannot review browsing history to investigate these reports because we do not keep any browsing history.
Bottle VPN relies on a small number of third-party services to provide essential app, VPN, analytics, and advertising functionality:
We do not operate Cloudflare's resolver and do not see these DNS queries. We do not sell your personal information to anybody. We also do not share your information with anyone else except where legally required.
We keep information only for the periods described below:
You can request deletion of your account directly from within Bottle VPN:
Settings → Request Account Deletion
If your deletion request is still pending, you may cancel it. You can also contact us to request deletion. Uninstalling Bottle VPN stops all collection. Any anonymous identifier stored on your device is also removed when the app is uninstalled.
Bottle VPN is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Bottle VPN uses Android's and iOS VPN service (correspondingly) to route your device's internet traffic through our VPN servers. This permission is necessary for the core function of the app and is used for nothing else.
We do not use the VPN permission to:
If we change what information Bottle VPN collects, we will update this Privacy Policy and change the Last updated date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced within the app.
